Sam's post....this post is uncalled for, especially coming from a person that is NOT a DOD customer. I can say even more but then it will to get deleted

James' character....James is a good rep for DOD. At least he trys to answer everyone's questions. I have been at other place where they are to good of themselves to answer to anyone. I would rather hear the truth then nothing at all....Thanks for all you do and try to take care of James....ignore those blah-blah-blah posters!!! Keep up the good work!!!

Ive been making trips to florida every month. I live in TN and my question is, is it illegal to go to florida and see a doctor get meds and drive back as long as the doctor is legit?

Syancey - maybe I'm splitting hairs, but it is dependence and not addiction. There is a difference.

I, too, hate the dependence part, but hate the pain even worse.

James - yes, you'll have to take the good with the bad. And what I mean by "bad" is when someone doesn't have a good experience, they have every right to come on here and post it. I thank you for acknowledging that.

Topgun - I think your post was deleted because it was rude to Sam. Nothing about bias - I believe Admin does his deal level best to treat all posters alike. If you are going to put people down, expect to be deleted. Your truth isn't necessarily another's truth.

And, even if one isn't a patient of DOD, observations can be made and input can be offered. The fact that James comes here and posts says alot about him. And when he's wrong, he says so. I admire that.

James - In sincerely hope, for patient's sake and for yours, that reliable docs can be found for those areas where patients were left high and dry. I bet you hope for that too.

OK.

I know that in some states a physician is required to Notify patients at least 30 days prior to discontinuing practice or it is a violation called "abandonment". I would venture to guess that is part of the reason why there is a different physician doing the telephone consultations. That way it seems that there is continuation of patient coverage. Ideally it would be a physician from the same practice. One could argue that any 2 physicians treating the same patient, working for the same company and using the same records are, in a way, partners. Also, it is no easy task to get a license renewed after it has expired. It is similar to applying and can easily take at least 3, and more commonly 6 months to occur. --91

You've been busy James. Thanks for caring about CPers. And trying to make docs available. It means alot. Keep up the good work.

For everyone - I don't use DOD, but I want kudos to go to a service that is at least trying to be a good service.

Hello James!

I am fairly new to this site, but I can tell that you are sincere and really try to help others. I appreciate that, and I am fairly certain that I will be using doctorsondemand.com very soon. I do have a couple of questions and was wondering if you could help me or should I call the cust. service line? I thank you for your time and patience.

Tiades - Oregon seems low on the list. Our population is not the same as bigger urban areas. Even so, I wish services would consider Oregon. There are plenty of CPers here too.

Having said that - I believe slowly but surely, DOD and others will get docs in all states. I believe that is their goal.

My husband is heading home and I need to take the "bank robber" beanie off and fix my hair. LOL. I thank my son - cause he made me laugh. He just fixed me eggs on toast (which I ate next to nothing of). He is a blessing and I am a lucky woman.

Be well, my friend.

Good day to everyone

We are trying to cover states. It extremely hard finding good doctors that last. It seems we have the best luck with pain management physicians obviously but we have tried general practitioners and they dont seem to last. I have several people working on new physicians for states we dont currently service and for backups for were we do have coverage.

Thank you
James

Happy Thanksgiving!

Does anyone know an alternate telephone number where I can contact these people? I put in for a consult 4 days ago, and haven't heard anything back. I'm starting to get concerned since the phone goes straight to vm.

This is disturbing. My doctor cannot even reach anyone at DOD. They have two telephone numbers for their back lines, and haven't been able to get through. Doctor said she even has another patient w/ the same issue. It's holding up everything. She said this was the first time she was unable to reach anyone there. I wonder if everything is okay. It sure doesn't sound good.

Nothing. My physician is puzzled as well. I have sent numerous e-mails, left vm messages, and even PM'd James. This is horrible news- especially right before the holiday. I should have started trying to contact them last Friday while they were still around (I think). This taught me a lesson. I should have been pro-active and started calling last week instead of waiting for them to contact me.

I wonder if it has to do with the other stings. Or maybe it is just the holiday week.....I would be proactive about a backup plan, Arizona. Look at my situation. Did everything by the book and the DEA just shut it down....and won't give a reason.....they are even doing it on minor techinicalities, so I would get records together and go for it. Good luck, I am in the boat with ya.

Dharma and Arizona - I am so sorry you must endure this.

It always seems before holidays everything comes to a halt. Ya know, a regular doc's office has back ups if your regular doc is out. Why oh why can't these services provide a level of service like that? I don't get it.

It seems like they don't care. Yes, James is great. But he needs time off too, but then there should be a back up. If my doc is out, there is a back up doc. And that doc always takes care of me. He looks at my records in the computer - it'll be ready today.

Katie and Dr Dave are out Friday - the day I am due. Katie called ME and said it would be ready to be picked up on Friday. What's so difficult about this?

I know this doesn't help either of you, but that's the way it should be. It feels like OCS referred patients just get dissed. Makes me mad. I think I'll watch a movie.

If you can - enjoy Thanksgiving. Hopefully you won't have to do too much. This year - first time in 35 years, I don't have to do anything. Don't even have to make the apple pie or pumpkin or cheesecake (we'll see how they'll do, lol) I make very good pastry, but my oldest son is a chef. Probably won't be able to not give "advice". I will make the sourdough biscuits (150 year old starter).

Anyway, keep bugging them. That's what I would do. You are NOT getting rid of me, lol. You've probably already done that.

Love, Rain

I finally received a response from them via e-mail, which is great. They also contacted me by phone for my consult. Although I'm grateful they are still in business, it really concerns me that they do not have a telephone contact number any longer.

Arizona,
I don't understand why you got so worried. You placed a request for tele-consult just before noon(11:47) on the 25th. You were placed in billing at 12:00 and shelli called you at 12:07 to put you into the doctor que. It looks like the doc called you sometime before 3:30pm.
If anyone is concerned about getting or not getting their tele-consult before holidays i suggest they place a consult request a day or two early, customer service will keep an eye on your request until it is actually do and everything should go thru great.
I hope this little bit of info helps yourself and others and I hope that everyone had a great thanksgiving.

James smile

She was probably worried because another OCS that has been around for as long as this board just got shut down at same time as she tried to reach you and we can't figure out why other place was shut down....something about compounds or something. So, when that happens everyone gets freaked. I shouldn't speak for her but usually the first sign of a place closing is the phones don't ring or aren't answered. Unfortunately, in the last two years, as you probably know, we have gone through a ton of these collectively on this board. Thanks for posting.

What service got in trouble?
The only way to stay up and running is not to have any relationships with pharmacies and/or have patient pick up any Rx at their local Pharm.

Hi All:

I don't want to be called a Shill but I believe in giving credit where credit is due.

I Just wanted to report another perfect consult from a VERY consiencious Doctor via DOD. I even had a slight cough and the Dr caught onto it and asked if I needed anything for it. VERY thorough consult. Actually better than my Primary!

James, If all your doctors are like this you're doing a great job.
