You aren't CL are you?????????????? :-)

lol who is Chris Larson?

I don't try to figure out who's who. I always picture in my mind what someone may look like.

All I keep picturing throughout this whole thread is that head bobbing back and forth and some funny comment admin left about taking PM priviledges away for NBG for doing something silly again. I'd laugh at the comment admin left and keep on reading.

It goes right back to the... you can be anyone you want to be online.

I've seen it all not just on this board but on dating sites, online games and other forums as well. People claiming to be someone they are not. People flying out to meet people who are not who they claim to be. I've heard the funniest stories of people going on dates and the person who was in the picture ended up being their date's sister or brother etc. Or people "dating" on online games only to find out their so called love one was far from what or who they claimed to be. Nothing suprises me anymore.

I'm just glad that LE & parents have become more aware. I remember when there were stalkers and people would call the police and the police would think you were nuts. Wasn't long after that that the police realized that crime was even more widespread on the internet. Thank goodness they now are trained and warn parents and children about the dangers of meeting someone in person you met online!

I really dont think this NBG will ever feel bad or do the right thing. He is obviously mentally lost. People like this do not care about others feelings; they are sociopaths. I have to admit that I am too trusting sometimes. HOWEVER, I have learned my lesson the hard way with "friends" I have met online as well as people I have met in the real world. People are people, it's just easier for them to fool ya behind a computer screen than to your face but I suspect this guy was good at the face to face thing also.

For those of you hurting from this guy, I am truly sorry for what happened to you. Yes, do be more careful in the future with strangers but dont let it make you jaded. From what Ive read, he is not worth it.

It's easier for some to fool those online. They are not "people" but "pixels". Unfortunately this went to far. It's not just a screen name or a pixel anymore, people were met in real life, friendships were formed and people were taken advantage of. Again tho it's easier seeing even those you have met in real life as "pixels" when you are talking to them on a forum.

There's even analysis done on how friendships and forums or chat rooms are formed and how some take over as leaders etc. People act differently online. They can hide behind their computers. They can change genders, have whatever job they want, live wherever they want and if they can make people believe then their fantasy life becomes reality. It's just when fanasty and reality comes together that sometimes people get hurt. If they don't mix the two, people can continue on in their fantasy online life.

It's the same way with scammers. It's easier to rip off a pixel or an email name then to rip off a real person...to take someones money out of their pockets or break in their homes and steal their cash or checkbooks. It's not a real person, it's just a pixel or so they think. On the other end, people don't want to believe that those cruel mean people are just an email away and that's why they believe that others are so honest and wouldn't steal from them. The same way it's easier to buy drugs online from a person in CA then to buy drugs from a person on the streets. It's not a scary looking drug dealer who might rob and kill you, instead it's a nice person, being friendly in his/her emails who CARES about you. They understand you are in pain or need anxiety meds or need to sleep. They are there to HELP you. Unfortunately they are just sweet talking drug dealers.

Loc: 867-5309 Thanx everybuddy who has posted. This thread has been very therapeutic for me. I really love ya guys! I hope to beat the odds. For now, I’m feeling just great except for my chronic pain, but that’s why science makes wonderful pills. Now if we can just get ahold of them!

I just stumbled across this thread. I was reading some previous posts of a member whom I had a doubt that he/she was telling the truth about some feedback on a company (not NBG and not music7). For what it's worth, I'm always a bit skeptical, well perhaps very skeptical. I find it hard to trust people in general.

With that being said... The quote that follows I thought meant he was a pain patient and his doctor was underprescribing him for fear of prosecution and not that he didn't have the money to afford them. "I’m feeling just great except for my chronic pain, but that’s why science makes wonderful pills. Now if we can just get ahold of them!"

Was more said in the pms? Did he state he didn't have the money for medication? Did he state his doctor was underprescribing them? I am in no way saying those that did not think like me were wrong. I'm asking why did you think differently then I? Perhaps it was a close friendship that you all had with NBG that I did not?

Either way playing on people's emotions is wrong and I am sorry for those of you that were played. It is a good quality to be concerned and care about other people.

Who flushed the pills? Now I'm starting to understand by SS' post (the PMs). Sorry I started from post 1 and am working my way to the end. Maybe I should have saved my questions until the end?

again, you make many great points my friend. i would have to say, to meet someone im person you met online would be seriously dangerous. imo. you have no idea who is behind the screen.

some people are too trusting and will be taken advantage of easily...

even in real life, many times you have no idea who is behind the mask...

just a thought online peoples...

Stressedout

I know this is a long thread but there is one person in particular who met NBG because they lived near one another. Others had long lasting friendships and talked here and by private e mails.

We all believed NBG he was here for five years.

He did a lot of his dirty work by pms.

The woman he hurt so bad it happened because she has a big warm heart and a generous spirit. These people who take advantage of others know who to prey on.

I understand now.

Yes it is a long thread and perhaps I should have saved all my questions for one post.

I am sorry that this person was hurt and was taken advantage of.

I too agree with the wise and SOMETIMES even funny part! LMFAO

NOTE: He has no magical ability to determine who one is in reality. He may like to think this, as many do, which is fine and does become better with experience of course. However, forum Posting your "conjectures" of others on the board, is not a real position that anyone holds at DB. In fact, I think that might be an admin task in fact?

The fact is, if you are going to smite anyone without evidence, PLEASE be right and prepared to prove it. Otherwise, this is yet another of his rule violations that seemingly always get overlooked.

Ignore the "re:" pharma. It's automatic.

Geez, now we're getting all mushy and stuff. Hey, Old! You're still an old fart and all.

What would you do without me to guard your reputation? Huh? Next thing, someone will be calling you "sweet", and I KNOW that would hurt.
