Anyone order from an IOP, get stuck in customs for a while, finally recieve it, and get hit with customs fees/taxes? If so, how much did you pay?

Also, whats the longest time you've had to wait to recieve your package that was stuck in customs? I've ordered from 2 places, and 1 of my deliveries has been stuck for 2 weeks now. Really wondering how much longer it will be, and if Im going to have to pay any outragous fees... Thanks for your help.

I've never had to pay customs fees for anything from an IOP yet; but I've paid plenty on everything else I order. About the package in customs for 2 wks, that's not looking promising (LL?)

Well, according to the tracking information it hasn't been brought to actual customs yet...I think it would say so...just the usual, 'Has been recived, international items reviewed by customs'. I normally would start panicking at what you said, but its only been 9 business days, 2actual weeks in our time, and I've read forums all over the net of people saying they've had stuff sitting there for like 20 business days before they got it. Not nessasarily IOP orders, just regular packages from overseas.

I have bought items and used DHL before and then a week after delivery get sent a $50 fee to have it x-rayed! I was so angry. I did not pay and I havent been sent any further letters so I am hoping they have let it slide.

I had a package arrive (via Airmail) recently that was opened by customs and assessed a Cdn value of 5 times more than what I paid for the product from India. Had to pay the PST + GST only; no duty fees. However, I doubt that I will dispute the assessed value.
