Youshoiz,
Regarding your questions about the "T's & Blue's" recreational abuse in the 1970's and early 1980's in the
USA, (which led to the reformulation of USA Talwin 50 mg.
to harpoon the escalating street abuse....adding Naloxone
in 1983)................"the blues" were a name brand in
the USA, patented by Geigy Pharmaceuticals as "PBZ" in a
25 mg. (light blue scored tablet) and a 50 mg. tablet. They
were so widely prescribed in the 70's & 80's that the USA
pharmacies, ordered the bottles in 100 count and 1,000 count
jars, as well, as in one pint (473ml) "Elixir" formulations.
I haven't seen this med in many, many years, and it is not
listed in the USA 2007 or USA 2009 PDR's, but the 2002 edition
of the Martindale Complete
drug Reference, covering around
35 to 40 countries says antihistamine "Tripelennamine HCI" was
only available by 2002 in 5 remaining countries, of the
industrialized world: (Australia, Finland, Germany, & Spain,
and the USA. It had been withdrawn between 1999 and 2001 from these countries: Canada "Vaginex" "Pyribenzamine" Netherlands
"Azaron" and the USA as "Pelamine", but was still available in the USA as "PBZ" seven years ago. It appears headed for extinction, (if not already)...........
