I used them this week. I got the regular lortab 10/500 120ct. with #2 refills. They only charged $225 for my F2F which is good for a year. I also used the pharmacy they have and got my meds the following morning. Customer service was 1st class.

Would be nice if their rep, or any member, could explain some of the text on their front page like:
Quote:
At 1stchoicemeds.com we have many years of combined experience in the OCS business. We have observed the failings of many OCS companies inferior customer service over the last several years and vow to go the 'extra mile' for our customers.

Who where they before or where did they work before to gain all that experience?

Not sure who they were before, but I did their contact request for information and received a reply in just a few hours.
I plan to arrange a F2F with them.
They have been the only OCS to respond to me quickly in the last week when others have still not responded to my inquiries.
So I say they seem to "go the extra mile" and I say Thanks!

If you have to use there Pharmacy you had better read the RH Act. They cannot provide Pharmacy service and be compliant. The DEA will bust them and you'll be out your refills

Yeah, you are right. And we all know how that goes, with the pharmacy issue! They ought to do direct script instead. They seem to be pretty good with their feedback but when they say they use their pharmacy--OUCH! And I agree admin.,they probably said that on their page for marketing and didn't think people would think about it, lol. But this is true. Were they an OCS that went under?

In reference to board member "pixie" . There is a online pharmacy called "drugstore.com". Any licensed physician in the United states can send/fax over your prescription, and they in turn will ship you your medication. This is perfectly legal, and completely complies with the RHA law. As long as you see a doctor, and are examined, you can have your prescription filled by an online pharmacy, as long as the pharmacy is compliant to all hippa and RHA laws. If you go to "the drugstore.com" website, you can read all about the laws pertaining to mail order pharmacys. The Feds wanted to get the OCS company's that were using Doctors that did not see the patient face to face for an exam. The pharmacy's chose not to be affiliated with these company's for obvious reasons by the time the new RHA law went into effect.
Again, as of now, there is no law against an online pharm shipping you medication as long as your doctor is licensed and has seen you at least once a year. In some cases, its every three months, which is B.S. if you ask me.
Be glad that Bush isn't in office any more. Things hopefully will loosen up a little in the coming months.........hopefully.

gary...you are right about that. RHA wants me to have a F2F and that's what I plan to do. As far as getting a direct script sent to you, that opens up a whole other beehive with pharmacies confiscating your Rx and/or refusing to fill it. I won't go that route.

I know nothing about direct scripts I just do the F2F where the Doctor gives you a script and you take it to the pharms of your choice. I've used three different one's none has hesitated. But if the OCS you are involved with cliams to be involved in conjunction with a pharmacy it is a direct violation of the RHA. Don't get me wrong I wish all of you the best of luck getting what you neeed but don't lost refills by some idiots claiming to be PAIN SPECIALIST, or HAVE THERE OWN PHARMACY. The DEA will Bust them.

You have the Option to get the script at your Consult..... or have the Doc Fax it to a Pharm.... that they have and have it shipped to you the Next Day ....That is what the Rep told me.

Actually, the rep. told me I would be receiving a script--even an electronic one if I choose sent to my own pharmacy or I could choose a pharmacy the DOCTOR was familiar with who would fill the script by mailing the meds., at my cost. I chose the latter. I did not feel pushed into it at all. The conversation was all about choices. It is also left up to the doctor whether I even need a follow-up telephone consult in 90 days or 6 months--depending on my condition. I think alot of the follow-up consult issues can be intelligently addressed by the patient. For instance, I plan on getting routine blood work done at 2 months after the F2F and fax the results in so doctor knows liver enzymes are a-ok, etc.

After F2F, it seems to me that it is known of the governments business how it is managed before next F2F required consult.

No need to get into a spitting contest. If an OCS states that you have a choice after being examined by a doctor, to either have a script written and handed to you or using a legal online pharmacy, (there are quite a few legal online pharms in the USA), either choice is perfectly legal. Where is the crime? People have been legally receiving medication thru the mail for years. People who are bedridden, and the elderly for example.
The new law cut down the company's that were involved in dispensing schedule II & III drugs WITHOUT having patients/customers seen by a licensed physician. As long as you see a doctor once a year, he/she can call your prescription into any LEGAL online pharmacy. By legal, I mean the ones that comply with all HIPPA and RHA laws to this date........period! There is no need to be leery about the law. You just have to research and understand it first. If there are changes to the existing RHA laws to date that I am unaware of, and If anyone on this board has heard something new, I'm all ears!

All of that is true but if this place is so legal why doesn't the Doctor give the the script on the spot. Mine does and I don't want a script that I have to take to a special drug store because the Doctor is hotter than a three dollar pistol.

You have the option of getting the prescription handed to you at the time of the visit and then take it to your own pharmacy.

Ditto! I think the F2F companies need to list the region too.

IL can be very big if you have to go from north to south. That's a very long day for a doctor visit. Too much time in a car for me.

I have read feedback...talked..emailed and tried several over the past 3 years, but this one is by far hands down the best. I had the F2F with a specialist who was prompt, thoughtful, experienced and asked many questions..talked about old treatments, new ones on the horizon...what works and what does not. Issued a script and encouraged me to call anytime for follow-up before next phone consult 90 days out. There will be no need for me to go elsewhere in the future if everything stays the same.

Had my F2F today. All went well. I got a physical / check-up and had my prescription called into my pharmacy. It was a painless visit. The Dr. did request that I get some basic blood work in a month and fax it to him. I think any good Dr. would request the same.

P.S. I never did find that $25 discount coupon.

Poker....congrats on your F2F. I also looked for the discount code and I don't think there is one. They are not listed on the VIP side. I guess they are too new.
I have a tentative scheduled F2F in a few weeks, waiting for exact time.

tee...Yes, it was. The service was exceptional. The individual behind the service appears to be a very astute businessman with a long term business plan. I had a chance to talk to him at length and can report he is very intelligent and understands that his interests are served by providing exceptional service. I could not have been an easy patient either because by the time I traveled to the F2F, I was in excruciating pain because of the travel, which causes me incredible low back pain. Very caring understanding pain specialist. I traveled home and even received a follow-up call from the doctor!! How rare is that these days? The time put in to me personally was way beyond expectations. The only problems to be experienced by this service in the future will be related to what I believe will be significant growth because the service is that good and thoughtful. I certainly have no need to go elsewhere.

Would your doctor only right an RX for Hydrocodone or were all other medications including OxyContin on the table as well? I don't see how they can give refills every three months on that medication, and hydro doesn't work for me.

More- you will not get refills on a C-II med.

Apty- since you have yet to answer my question again I ask how can you compete for business when you are charging $340 for the F2F when others are charging $225 with the same number of refills ? It's not the Dr's you keep because most are working for several services, so why would a potential patient not just use the service with the lowest cost ?

chopper01 - - we just cannot afford a 225 f/f price - that makes me sorry because we need all the clients possible - one difference may be that we give some discounts - DBVIPs and also for the first tel consult after the f/f. we try to give good service (everyone says that - but we perform) - even sat/sun 10 to noon. thanks for your interest and give us some advice.

Well, I had my F2F per my post above. sunblueIt was $275. I could not find the discount code. cry100"I" did make a mistake and did not indicate to the Doc what I needed. As a result I'm attempting to correct that via 1st Choice Meds. I guess you could say I'm putting to the test there slogan: "1st Choice Meds is committed to going the extra mile for our customers". usaflagsmile

It depends on where you are located and what the available times are. You can email Rick and ask. He is good about responding and helping.

Poker...sorry to hear you sort of flubbed with the doctor. You should have told the doctor what medications in the past have worked the best. I think it may be dead in the water at this point. Just remember that it's not the job of the OCS to mediate in what the doctor has prescribed, but good luck anyway.

I just found out they no longer have their available pharmacy.
That is going to leave me with a problem getting the Rx refills.
Anyone thinking of using 1stchoice be aware that you could have a problem with Rx transfers.

Poker...I haven't gotten to that point yet. I just finished my F2F this week and it went very well. I really liked the Dr. and would love to have him for my PCP.
I was handed my Rx. and had it filled at Walmart. I already had an Rx account there. I will have to have the rx transferred to my local WM. So I hope that won't be a problem since they are the same company.
Hope you don't have any problems.

I just wanted to post that I researched many F2F services, and Rick at 1st Choice was at the top of the game in regards to customer service. He E-mailed as well as phoned in response to my inquiries, and appointments were available in just a few days. The phone is never answered directly, so just leave a message and you will be contacted in a few hours or so. Good luck and you will be happy with this place I think!

Apty- you are posting under 1stchoicemeds thread redirecting people to your site, thats pretty poor business practice in my book.

Chopper...thanks for bringing that up. I was going to post about Apty a while back but I thought since they may not understand the Rules yet, I would be kind. But Apty has become annoying with these posts. So I hope they keep their posts in their own thread.

L8night.... I agree with you on all you said about 1stChoice.
I had a very good F2F with my Dr. and Rick had helped me with a lot of anxiety along the way.
So if any members are located in their states, I would look into having your F2F with them. I give them 5 Stars!

Apty....if you want to respond to someone's question and it pertains to your company, you can send them a private message.
Just click on the member's name to get the dropdown bar.
You can also create a new thread title if you want to discuss or reach your own clients or potential clients.

As for me I have no reason to go anywhere else since 1stChoicemeds helped me tremendously with my F2F.

poker.....It could be that the dr. is delayed. You should contact Rick. I find that an email was always responded to quickly.

Anyone wanting to know more about a dr.'s availability in their state should contact them and just ask. You will get an answer.

Does anyone know if these guys are affiliated with any other networks?

Perhaps Apty can answer.

The reason I ask is because they have the exact same map and doc availability as another website--I'm trying to remember the name.

Can you travel to see a doctor if there is not one available in your state? There's not one available nearby, but I may be able to travel. Is that acceptable at this company? Not just to neighboring states...

Thanks

Apty is not affiliated with 1stChoice and they in turn are not affiliated with any other referral service.

Many of those maps are a common webpage feature. Of course that doesn't mean that some of these places have contracted with the same drs.
You should contact them with your questions and concerns. Rick will help you with the process.

One of the doctors in Atlanta (not sure if there is more then one) is a bit arrogant. Not unlike most doctors. You should definitely have the medical records for your condition handy and if you have questions call Rick. Rick seems to be a straight up person. Hope this helps.

Thanks, i have now heard this from 3 people. I have medical records that diagnose me with anxiety/panic disorder but my doc has always prescribed me to xanax 1mg and i was going to see if this doc would bump me to 2mg.. I am just tired of my docs same old bs.. Sitting in the waiting room for 2 and 1/2 hours and then seeing him for 3 minutes while he throws some more antidepressants at me..

Sorry Im getting off-topic now.. But i will indeed contact rick about my particular situation and let everyone know how it goes

Buyer beware about first choice meds. Firm was running ok at first but I can say from experience there Indiana Dr has left patience hanging when there first refill was due to hit.

Dr was not around, had to wait 3 weeks to get an answer from the Dr of there where abouts. Rick was around with basic information, sometimes a little spotty at best, etc. I felt excuses where being made about the DR, and why folks dont have there medication.

Told Rick I never have had any F2F run like this, the Dr usually writes refills on the script. This Dr did not, so the refills have to come in on time or you will be SOL.

Finally 3 weeks later a hard copy script arrives, not a tele-fill, and the script might of well been wrote to john doe because the quanity amount was off by 60. and the how and when to take was reduced to from QID to TID.....JOKE.

Not sure about any other Dr they have but you have been for warned about the Indiana DR...also when asked for 1st choice to make it right on billing, no full or partial refund was offered, and to further slap in the face, the script above was even charged full price after they knew it was 100% wrong in every way.

Would have stayed with them, if they werent about the bottom line dollar and more to customer service. Dont want to pay 275 for the F2F for NO refills on paper, and then to have the Dr awol for 3 weeks only to get half medication script and to be charge full price for it.

Lastly the note with the script read, from the DR, we are done, good luck finding new health care. LOL

2 cents worth.

We are not closed our website is down for repairs today 8/25/09. Our Indiana
Doctor moved which was and is not returning emails/phone calls form any
companies. We have removed her from our company. We have no control over
quantity of medication prescribed. The Indiana Doctor never prescribed with
refills per her Rules. We offered all patients (Including Ul4life) to
transfer to one of our other physician at the price of the reconsult fees
$99. Which they would have had to pay anyway. We are committed to extra
mile customer service. We have other patients with the Indiana Doctor and
all understand that the situation is out of our control. If you have any
questions please call us at 954-903-0656 or email: support@1stchoicemeds.com

Thank you,

Rick

The above is an email reply I got from Rick when I asked him if they were closed.
It seems a reasonable explanation and as I had posted previously, I had a very good F2F experience and hope to continue with 1stChoicemeds.
Hope this answers any questions.

For what it is worth, I left email today with question about re-consult/next refill and just received a call from Rick (after hours) who answered my questions and said he would set up next follow-up consult in the morning and call me back. Still, to me anyway, same great service. We'll see.

All I can do is speak on my experience, my goal is only to warn folks of a problem before they spend there money on something that isnt what they have been used to. If the Indiana DR didnt offer refill per her Rules, then had I known this up front I would have looked else where, or fly elsewhere.

Lastly when she "half" committed her 1 refill to me, I was charged full 100% price, which again isnt great customer service and that isnt going the extra mile Rick.

The right thing to do was to tell her not to even issue the script if she didnt know who or what amount she had wrote previously. When myself and other patients were do a refill, and we ALL had to wait 3 weeks for you to even track down the DR, that should have been a red flag right there to cut your losses and try not to lose more clients over it.

Again I am open to dialog before the end of the week Rick, but if you think myself or any other tele-med is comfortable spending $375.00 only to recieve a script with ZERO refills on it, is going to be ok, then you are sadly mistaken.

I have to recoupe some funds here or your company has to right this wrong by this DR.

Thanks.

I have left a message for you to discuss reconciling this matter. We have offered a refund already. We also offered to send you to another Doctor without charging the F2F fee. Which is beyond our terms agreement. I would rather work this out one on one rather than in the forum. Please call the office tomorrow and we will reconcile this matter. I trust you will post the results as well on the forum. I don't think you understand our system, we charge the same F2F price for all initial visits. The charges are different for follow-ups depending on refills or not. This is the only fair way we know to do things. We have no control over prescribing habits of Doctors per refills and quantities of medication. We make this clear in our terms agreement. All of these things are explained when you register. Also we have no control when a Doctor will move to another city and chooses to not return messages. We look forward to working this out and continuing to serve your needs to the best of our ability. We want ot preserve our good customer service reputation and that is why we are working so hard to resolve our only negative post.

Thank you,

To follow-up from yesterday, I received a call this a.m. from rick, as promised. Next consult/for refill set up. Sorry about your experience ul4life. I do not know the solution to your doctor problem but I have to admit--it would be pretty tough to get a doctor to commit to anything related to specific treatment for every patient because the nature of the beast is so subjective/patient specific. If anyone knows a doctor who has an automatic policy for every patient for anything, please pass a name along. I guess I just got lucky. I, for one, am in favor of some kind of a chronic pain sufferer registry. i.e. Look up my ________ with a flashlight, certify me/my condition and then leave me alone with my doctor FOREVER. My experience with rick has been that he can solve anything. good luck!

I do have a question for 1stchoice. Can you tell us when approximately you will have the webpage back up again. This can't be good for your business.
Thanks

We noticed this, but we did not do this. This could have something to do with our technical problems. We have notified our hosting company.

why does everything seem so sketchy with this company now? Website down for a long period of time. Someone finds them on bogus web address. Anyone used them recently and had any problems? I know ul4life still hasn't had the problem with 1st choice handled and has not heard back from Rick. Was thinking of using the company but now im very reluctant.

Read the post on our home page on DB. We are having hosting issues for the past week. Which could be related to this undrugged.org website. Not sure who is doing these things to both websites. If you emailed anything with the .com on the end we are not getting them. Until we get this fixed email us at 1stsupport@1stchoicemeds.us. When we get the problem corrected we will post the announcement for everyone. You can also call us at 954-903-0656. I assure everyone we only have the domains with 1stchoice in the name. We are operating as normal and are committed to 1st class customer service.

Thank you,

Rick, thanks for posting. Sounds like someone or an entity has hijacked 1st Choice. Must be stressful.

My recommendation (for what it's worth) would be that patients email or call. My husband does IT management including 2 websites for his company. He tells me about some of the nightmares and the time it takes to correct it.

Rick, I hope you can resolve the issues soon - for your sake (and for the patient's).

I got a call from 1st choice today asking me if all was well. (I had a consult today) I used “.us” instead of “.com” the last couple of days …I have to say that’s pretty darn good service. Thanks Rick...

sounds like the hosting company screwed up and left a private page public.

but these guys answer the phone. so if anyones worried because they bought more than the .com domain just call them and they actually answer and you can do everything over the phone.

besides DB has other domain extensions as does ATT and anyone else that wants to keep there good name.

I received follow-up email from Rick--same good service as usual. I think their host problems have been fixed by simply changing site from ".com" to ".us", or at least fixed temporarily while other is being fixed. Anyway, they seemed to have not missed a beat once problem was discovered. I did not try the phone no. because I did not need to. Hope this helps.

sn3....Yes Rick is still there. He can answer your questions quickly by emails.
I had my F2F in July and had 2 refills with my Rx. My 1st 90 day teleconsult will be due the 1st part of Oct. I am hoping this goes well also. I will post when the time arrives as to how it went. So far they are an excellent company.

Sn3, While waitn opinion of 1stchoice is from his own experience, I can say I am still working with Rick for a positive outcome.

I do think that will be achieved, however this is just an update. Waitin I am glad you got a F2F with actual refills on script, most of these (new service outfits) are crooks wanting to do monthly refills called in for a large fee.

I will say Ricks service is better and honest than most of the bottom feeders who want that guaranteed money each month.

I have been out of the mix for a while and am considering ordering a consult from them. I have been emailing Rick back and forth and he's been helpful in answering my questions. I guess what I need is some feedback from people who have used this service. I am just nervous about doing it because A. My records are 4 yrs old(they are good records)B. I have to drive from Nashville to Memphis and C. MONEY. I'm not griping about the cost, like everyone else, my money is tight. I would appreciate any feedback on doing a F2F and 1stchoice meds.
Thanks!!!!!!

Hey Nashtrash,
I live 30 miles from Nashville. Before there was a doc availabe in TN I used 1st choice and went to Atlanta. I won't go into details but after my first RX was filled and it was time for a consult I wasn't happy. Rick fixed me up in Memphis THE NEXT DAY! He even said "I want to make this right" These days it's hard to find a company who will go the extra mile for you. I went to Memphis the next day, which by the way was a Saturday, so I didn't have to miss any work and saw the Memphis doc. She was really good. She gave me a thorough exam and asked a lot of questions. I received my Rx that I had been getting. No refills but I don't think many patients are. I just had my one month consult this week and everything went fine. She didn't just ask "Where do you want this called into?" She asks questions about how you feel, what your pain is like. She is really nice. I know Memphis is kind of far for you but it's worth it.
Hope this helps.

I had ABSOLUTELY no problems with this site. I ordered a F2F (I am in NJ) it took two days to see the doctor and I not only got an extremely nice and caring doctor but also my meds, 120 of them and 2 refills. I loved the guy I was dealing with and he gave me great advice, his name is Rick. I also got a through exam. I highly recommend this site. OH! I also got $25- off of my F2F. It was an hour drive to get there but well worth it!!! I highly recommend this site!

Send an email to Rick and he can answer all your questions. It really depends on the Dr. whether he/she will consult monthly or quarterly.

Excellent service. Faxed in records before being referred. Very thorough doctor's visit, which lasted 1.5 hours. Must give records and go over your conditions--I brought extra copy to appt and we went over every diagnosis, medication I take, and every test. Each diagnosis will be reviewed carefully. Doctor is super nice. He has a wealth of experience and is not there to just hand out meds. He told me of other things that may work for pain and when I left I had five or six treatments ideas-from massage therapy to nerve injections (he doesn't do them but suggests when necessary, to nerve feedback. He is AWESOME. He wants all your info-- which is good. He spends time getting to know you and your conditions. I felt a true doctor-patient relationship as we talked about all aspects of my health. If you are wanting to work with a doctor who is compassionate and wants what is best for you, I suggest a referral through this service.

Rick was AWESOME too! He called the evening before to see that I got directions and was all set. I had almost given up when I got this referral to this company and doctor, and it was a life saver. SMOOTH sailing, thank the Lord. I could not have imagined a Christmas in pain.

Dharma, I am SO glad you had a great experience. You deserve that as do we all.

And the first appointment, IMHO, should take time. The doc needs to get to know you and you him. How can you do that in 15 minutes?

So many on here search for a good physician, good care, it is heartening to hear that there is such a thing.

Congrats, girl and may the relationship continue to be a good one.

Dharma....they were scheduled to be open today but would not answer the phone nor return email. I finally got a response late this evening. The Dr. I was with is gone due to some insurance issues. Now I am without medication after this weekend.
I just wish these companies would give the patients advance notice when a Dr. quits and not surprise them when it's time for the renewal consult. There should be no excuses.
I had such good treatment with them up until now.

This is what KILLS me with theese places, we as customers pay our HARD earned money and we are treated like garbage! NO matter what happened with the doctor, these companies know what is going on but continue to act as nothing is wrong... This is why I encourage everyone to post when they are treated bad so people on this forum will not use these places anymore!! They will gladly take your money but neglet to tell you when the doctor leaves or has a problem. If we all keep on top of this and post the NEGATIVE FEEDBACK these OCS will have to treat you better because they will loose business and can't get to your HARD EARNED MONEY!!!!
At this point allmembers should look at the way this member has been treated before you think about using 1stChoiceMeds

1stChoice often posts. I wonder if they can shed any light on the subject. I would ask them to inform people if their doctor has left, though. This system still has a lot of drawbacks. I would be interested in what 1stChoice has to say about these posts. The whole patient abandonment issue for ANY OCS is not good. I can't imagine ANY OCS would want to be involved in that. Informing people ASAP gives them time to get another doctor. Aren't these docs signing anything with the OCS or agreeing to be docs for these patients? I have to admit, it is certainly not just this place but several others where docs zip in and out and they are forgetting about the patient.

My initial experience with the OCS was good, which is why I think it is important to see what they have to say.

Good post Pod and Dharma and thanks for the support.
1stchoice of course is trying to find me a new Dr. but it's no consolation to be left cold at the last minute. It only creates more stress for the patient. I was told they knew that the Dr. had some issues around thanksgiving. Had I been alerted at the beginning of the month that there was a looming problem that would affect my health, I could have properly prepared myself.
Yes it's not just 1stchoice that has done this. Many other memebers have had to suffer the same fate from other OCSs.
I will admit I have been with them since July and the program worked very well for me and they were super. But I just want everyone to be aware that the bottom could fall out at any time and you should always be prepared when it comes time for your renewal. You might want to try and talk with your OCS a month before to make sure your Dr. is still available.
Not a Happy New Year message for me.

I will keep you posted on how things work out.

I'm wondering if loandog (or anyone) would be able to tell me the discount code for 1stChoiceMeds? My other question is about the medical records. I have extensive records from about a year ago but then went to teach school in Mexico for a year so I don't have records in English for that time period.

Since moving to Seattle, I have records but it seems like the insurance group is taking FOREVER to get the copies sent to me. I am wondering if anyone knows if I could go ahead and get the process started with the records that I have. Thanks for any help I can get. I really appreciate the answers.

Thanks so much - Rick seems like a really helpful and professional CS person. I'll contact him on Monday and see what he says. I really appreciate the input.

You're welcome.
I even got an email from him late yesterday (New Year's Day) that he was still trying to set me up with another Dr., though I don't expect to have any news until Monday either. But it does show that he is trying his best to help. That's very good CS.
Hope you have good news on Monday also.

Can you get a schedule II because of where you are seeing them face 2 face the first time and then the regular hydro through the mail after the initial visit.

your sister should call and inquire, but I doubt it. She has had back surgeries very young and should be followed by a specialist since she may still be growing, so I expect they will leave this to the people who will be following her. Also, I have never heard of this age getting meds.

I'm currently waiting for the doctor to call me. I did my face to face a few months ago and this is my 2nd or 3rd re-consult. I like the company but am getting frustrated because I have been waiting a week and every day I think the doc will call and she hasn't. I have meetings and a schedule to keep and it's tough not knowing when they will call and making adjustments then she doesn't call. "Next week" isn't a good answer in my opinion, especially after you've paid your money.
However I do like the doc I have in my area and am hopeful she calls soon.
I am disappointed in how much trouble it seems to be this time. I'm tired of rearranging things and waiting.

Snoop, the short anwer is no. If you are an internet patient, the doc will not prescribe Sch IIs.

For schedule IIs, one must go to a PM doc - or on occasion - a regular doc who will prescribe (my situation).

I don't know why this is, but I'd be interested if anyone received these meds. Not for myself, but for others. Hell, a patient is lucky to get Sch IIIs.

Good luck in your quest for adequate PM.

May I ask in what general area you are? Has anyone tried this group who lives in Southern CA? I am looking for a caring doc near me, because my condition and my work make it hard for me to plan to travel far. I am interested in reactions to this particular group as they seem to have doctors nearby.

Thanks and best wishes.

Hey, Does anyone have any experience with scheduling an appointment, being charged and never receiving the doctors name and address??

My appointment was scheduled for today and I spoke with Rick last night. He told me he was going to make payment and send the doc info but all he did was take payment. Still no word back from Rick. My appointment is in 1 hour yet will take at least an hour and 25 min to get to the appox. area Rick gave me for the office... I have ben trying to contact Rick ALL day for the rest of the info via email and tele with NO reply at all... Any suggestions??

Wow, that stinks. My first appointment, I waited for a couple of days before I got the info. I think I had an appointment at 1PM and at 9AM I still didn't have the info. I finally got it around 10AM and had time to get to the appointment. I think they are protecting themselves by giving you the doctor's info at the last minute, so you can't cancel and then go to that doctor by yourself and not through 1stChoice.
Still...you should have the info by now. I wonder if something happened, like he was in an accident or something. He's usually very good about this kind of thing.
Sorry you will most likely miss you appt. I hope you get it all resolved soon. The waiting and no knowing really stinks.

Good afternoon! I have my first appointment with 1stchoicemeds tomorrow and I'm going to their Chino office. I just moved to CA from the Midwest and explored this because I was having a hard time finding a doctor that understood my needs.

When I left Ohio my physician and I were exploring different medicine options for my back pain. We had tried Darvon (no APAP) and that wasn't working well and we were going to look towards a 7.5/325 Oxycodone solution coupled with chiropractic care.

However, my new job took me on my move before the switch so there's no record of this. In explaining this to two doctors (just random docs referred to me) I've been berated and looked at like a drug abuser (and aside from some marijuana in college, I have not and am not inclined to illicit drugs). Would you recommend that I just be straightforward and candid with this doctor regarding this? I've been tiptoeing for awhile now and I'm a little on edge.

Also, I've been prescribed 10mg of dextroamphetamine 3 times daily for a sleeping disorder. Are these doctors able to prescribe this as well?

Thanks in advance for all your help!
