I live very close to Windsor Canada and recently lost my insurance, so I am looking to see how I can still stay on my expensive brand prescriptions, since they cost so much.
One in particular is Lunesta or Ambien CR which I am prescribed sometimes for sleep.
My question is, will a Canadian pharmacy fill a written prescription for any type of medicine, even a controlled medicine if you go to the pharmacy personally with the prescription to have it filled? Basically will they fill a prescription from a US doctor?
I thought living near Canada may have been a good thing for medication costs, but from reading the canadian section, it sounds like it is impossible to get any controlled substances from a Canadian Doctor even if you are Canadian and a long time patient of the Doctor.
Our Health Insurance and I would assume prescription coverages are supposed to be worked on with the Obama administration, but if it turns into something like what I have heard about Canada, it will only make things worse.

I answered you in your other thread but you are right. There is no way you are going to get meds at that cost in Canada, even if you can find some place to fill them. My aunt and uncle live in Dearborn so I called them. They used to get controlled meds there but so many were flocking over to buy the OTC codeine and cough syrup that they cut all of it out. Why not just require a script?
They are on the Obama plan. Whatever I say, I will do the opposite and make sure you get nothing you want while I go on an $80,000 date with my wife. Funny thing, I used to post all over the political forums but stopped because so many Americans are unread, uneducated, and downright blind. But I did post a long summary of what we can do about healthcare to save money without raises taxes. I listed 10 ideas. If we implemented just 3 of those, we would have the money to insure every person w/o insurance in this country.
Then suddenly I hear Obama talking about the very things I have posted all over. I had to crack up. I used to work in the Dept of Defense and I know how info is fed to him. He never had an original idea in his life. But that was pretty crazy.
Anyhow, see my previous post for tips on how to get free meds. You do not have to be "poor" or unemployed. You do have to take meds that are way over your ability to pay.

I thought that most Canadian doctors worked for the government (of Canada). I know a little about Canada and have relatives there, what I do know, tells me that they tend to follow strict guidelines. No way will a doctor help you out. The reverse is true, Canadians wait for months to see a specialist or get operations. American doctors do a good cash business serving these people.
