Good afternoon,

I have a question regarding the sched II/sched III meds reply here. If your records show that you were previously prescribed percocet (II) and that is not allowed, is it likely that the doctor will substitute w/hydrocodone (III) or something comparable? I ask because from what I read, the doctor will only prescribe what you can prove what you were previously prescribed and, in this case, he can't. Thanks very much for your help.

We apologize, but at this time the physicians we work with do not prescribe any medication above a schedule III. There are more stringent restrictions on how a schedule II like Oxycodone, is handled.

Thank You,

Hello Flossiemae,

Yes, your examining physician can prescribe a comparable medication. It does not have to be the same medication you have been using. The records you submit are used simply to inform the physician of your condition and to provide medical documentation that establishes a medical need for whatever prescription the physician may provide you.

Thank You,

Good question. It should be easy to claim the discount...
See http://www.drugbuyers.com/freeboard/ubbthreads.php/topics/892524/Discount_USA#Post892524
In principle you mention you are our member and present the discount code

Maybe the rep can answer this question and help you out with hte discount

For reps to participate and promote at out site it is required that they offer our members a REAL discount...

I emailed Allied today - they state that the discount is not for the initial F2F but for the refill or subsequent phone consultation; that is, IF you choose to use their direct mail pharmacy. I can see where this would be a good deal for those without insurance who choose to use that route. Personally, I would use my insurance at a local pharmacy and save the Fedex $ and cost of medication (unsure how much they charge for meds). Anyway, hope this helps. I also want to say that I emailed Allied several times today with numerous questions because I am about to do my 1st F2F and they were very prompt, courteous, and informative in their responses.

I understand the discount is ONLY when you get meds sent directly sent to you, and not DS or phone consult. So check into that part again.

I forgot to post my continued experince with AMS. I apologize, because they have been professional and caring.

I recommend them to anyone who is seeking a F2F consultation, who also has good records and is not simply seeking a prescription. If you are just trying to get over on the system, you will be weeded out.

I have found my Dr. to be thorough and thoughtful. He requires good documentation of your condition, as well as the willingness and ability to follow his directions.

As long as you are someone who needs to get medications due to a well documented condition, then AlliedMedicalService is a partner you can trust.

I have not requested any type of discount from AMS for my recommendation. And I am not going to.

TIFWIW.

Yes, ha ha, that's what I meant to say. Just kind of went on and on - discount is just for using their direct mail pharmacy. :]

Hello Everyone,

Yes the discount is applied to the cost of your medications when using the pharmacy our clients have access to. With the cost of medications being so high these days, we felt that would be the best option for our clients. Our consult and exam fees are already as low if not lower than other services.

Thank You,

Just be ready to do a lot of work. You have to call the docs, they don't call you, they forget. At least in some areas is what I heard. Then the doc don't read their emails, and don't have anything for you, phone numbers, etc. You might have to call the doc, so make sure you get the docs number for refills. I guess it's the way it is now. Like all things, getting the kinks out.

that defeats the whole purpose of paying the service to email them if you can do it yourself.

Hello Difficult,

We have a scheduling system that notifies each physician when they have scheduled appointments. If you do not receive your exam or consult on time, you can simply call our customer service number and we will contact the physician to let them know that you are waiting. We find out from the physician why there has been a delay and in turn we will contact you to let you know.

Thank You,

The customer service is terrible. They forward your emails to the doctor instead of calling them to talk with them. I heard that the doctor in flagstaff will not do anymore out of state patients now, and will not work for AMS anymore. This is what I call unsympathetic to the patient who was due a refill at this time. The person was just cut off from the pain medication for no reason. I thought this is unvalid due to the laws that a doctor just can't leave you in pain when you were due a consult and refill. This concerns me when a doctor can do this to a patient as the spur of the moment. I didn't think they could do that. The doctors have no sympathy for people in pain it seems. It is too bad, but I had to post what a friend told me, so people know that this place is not to get any Stars, as far as I am concerned. My friend now has to go through the holidays in pain, thanks to the doctor first saying they would do a consult, and then the next day quitting. DR.S.C. should be ashamed of herself for doing that to people who relied on her. Ethics for pain relief and patient care are gone now, and now we see another doctor who doesn't care. She just leaves people without any notice. It would of been better to say, this is my last consult and then I will be leaving the site, instead of leaving my friend without any relief. Sorry so long, just had to tell the story for my friend. Why would a doctor even sign up to do this for people and then just quit. Very sad and not a very nice person when it comes to helping people.

My first post here. I'm excited because my son will be going to an Allied Medical Dr. in Richmond, VA. For the last 6 months he has had back pains, visited a therapist, and seen his regular dr. They all just say it's posture related, etc. He has bought all these ergonomic desks, a good mattress, etc. and still back pain. So, I will let you all know about his experience in a few weeks! His dr. does not want to prescribe any more medication, although his 30 vicodin lasted him 2 months! It's been very frustrating to see him try to just keep taking advil and live with it. I'm hoping he will have a good experience, and I will post any information here!

I was a patient with the Flagstaff doctor, who had been quite thorough and nice up to the point I had my consult canceled two days before I ran out of meds as well. I asked her if she would be willing to do one more consult, and she said no, but left me with the solace that "it wasnt personal". Great -

Her only explanation was that her attorney had advised her against working with out of state clients. My issues here are two-fold. While I cannot fault someone for following the advice of their legal counsel and I realize that there is little Allied can do if a doc suddenly decides they no longer want to work within the guidelines, isn't one final consult to allow time to make other arrangements a reasonable request? Also, I'm curious how the legal consequences of dropping a patient without any kind of notice or disclosure compare to completing a final consult of out-of-state clients. From Allied's perspective, they quickly refunded my consult fee (little solace when in great pain over Christmas and minor withdrawl) but what about the initial investment of the original face-to-face consult fee, not to mention the costs of traveling to see the Flagstaff doctor to begin with? I truly don;t expect to be paid back to the latter expenses, but really all I got was the old "were hoping to have a new doc in place in a few weeks - we'll let you know" routine. It would be nice if there could be a "one final consult" clause into whatever contracts they use with the doctors as a safeguard to help mitigate against this kind of client dropping.

I have no issue with a doctor deciding that this kind of work isn't for them. With all the scrutiny of medical professionals and prescription drugs I'm frankly surprised they get any doctors on board at all - that said, if they agree to see clients, they should do better, even if its just a simple "this is our last consult" heads up.

From complaints I have read on board, yes, this seems to happen quite a bit with Allied, and other F2F companies.

I have seen their list of docs in diff states come and go. Also, have seen quite a few patients post about getting cut off due to getting scheduled for trlrphone prior to 30 day point, or some other reason.

Particulars?

yep mine did with another consult service.
Read the posts in the discussion about OCS Patient's Bill of Rights.
Looks like the only company with any decency and compassion is
Centralmedicalconsults.

All patients need to keep these places on their toes along with some communication with the dr.

If you just got your 30 day refill I suggest you contact your OCS to confirm that your renewal will be in order without any surprises.

So now the WA Dr. is MIA. Supposedly there is a new one to take her place but have to go through another F2F. Refill was due 1/13 and had blood work done. This sucks!

Hello Everyone,

We apologize for not responding sooner, but we have been very busy setting up Nationwide Coverage for everyone. We now have a network of over 60 offices ready for scheduling. This network has been setup by working with a few different nationwide companies to establish the coverage everyone needs and even provide backup physicians in every region. So, if you have an account with us we urge you to view the newly available cities as soon as possible because some of these new offices are in regions where clients have not had access to a physician in almost a year so they will be booked very quickly.

As for the messages above....

phaxocrys we apologize for the Flagstaff physician, but we have never worked with a Dr. S.C. The new network of physicians we are working with insures that each location has multiple physicians for that exact reason. We never forward emails to the physicians, if there is a problem we call the physician to find a resolution.

sroland33 we also apologize to you for the Flagstaff physician. Now that we have physicians across the US, you should no longer have to see an out of state physician. Please be sure to let customer service know you were seen by the flagstaff physician and you will not be billed for a new physical exam, just a follow up consult. You will still have to see the physician in your region though.

susanferriss please be sure you are emailing cs@alliedmedicalservice.com. That is our only email address that is monitored on a daily basis.

maandmister, Groucho_fan, and waitin yes previously physicians have come and gone, but all new physicians are contracted for six months minimum. That along with the fact that each location has multiple backups insures that we can offer our clients coverage even if a physician decides to break their contract.

havefaith the Seattle office has been sorted out and you should not have any further issues there.

dinalynn1 yes Richmond, VA is open and available for scheduling.

Solace11 please review our new available city list. We have a location open for scheduling in Orlando that is a permanent location and not sporadic like the Sarasota location is.

Thank You,
Customer Service

I have a question that I hope someone can answer for me. I'm a 50 yr old male that has had 2 major back surjuries ( the 2nd to place titanium screws and rods from my L-4 to my L-6 ) after falling down a flight of stairs while working as a home furnishings delivery man. I also have been diagnosed with Fibromyalgia last year.

I have been prescribed 10 mlg percocet which has been both very effective while not causing me to live my life in a "zombie" mode. Unfortunately, my insurance has recently expired & I can no longer afford to continue my care under the pain management specialist I was assigned to see. Can anyone tell me if this doctor's office can continue the same care I was receiving & what thier office visit costs are? This constant 24/7 pain & discomfort is ruining my life and I simply cannot affort the $350 per month ( NOT including the cost of my prescriptions ) I would've had to pay to keep my previous doctor. This is a terrible way to live, I just want to resume some semblance of a so - called "normal" life again.

Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated, Thank You.
