I'm nursing #4 myself. First question I'd ask is the age and health of the baby. With a 3 year old, she'd be fine nursing. I think the common thinking is that on average, 2.8% of the maternal dose may pass into the milk. And doses for pain mgt are much lower than for addiction mgt. If you're nursing 2x a day (and were very worried) you could schedule your doses at or right after taking the dose. Usually for pain it's twice a day and can take up to an hour or more to feel effects. But for a hearty 3 year old, I bet she wouldn't be phased. I'm happy to answer more questions.

My 1st shot of Dilaudid for a kidney stone, when I was in such severe pain, reminded me of the feeling of champagne bubbles in my head. Felt good and the pain was gone!

I haven't gone higher than 50mg of Oxy in one sitting in Percoset. Though I don't take anymore through out the day as I am afraid taking too much apap. So half the day I'm alright the other half I'm hobbling into the house.

For my moderate pain which is small compared to other members here,Tramadol & Robaxicin works fine 90% of the the time. Last time I could not stand it was time for the steroid shot in knee and some Vicodin which worked really well.
