Where Brunswick? And what is the name of the Doc. pm please.

I did bring my records to dr Robertson and he prescribed me 120 10/350. But the next month he told me that he cant give anymore. Hopital policy, which is bull. I called the hospital and they said that was bunk. He is in N Anson

are you talking state of Maine? I have never heard of it.

Doctors in Maine are very often affiliated with a hospital or owned by them, as I mentioned before, and they have to agree to prescribing practices. Other times, it is an excuse.

Which service did you use or was it private consult?

Thanks.

THe Dr said it was the hospital policy not to precribe pain killers, I called today because I am in serious pain. I hope he calls back.
I also called the hospital adminstrator and asked them to send the policy to me for verification.

Are you north or south in Maine? Same policy where my family is from. It IS a policy in some hospitals from Portland south, as well as Brunswick area. Like I said, I used to be in military in that area and yes, believe it or not, they have that policy. They didn't have a big enough hospital after they closed bases so farmed military out to the local hospitals.

If I were living in Maine, I would be calling my congressman, and reporting this stuff to all the CP sufferer groups asking them to help you with this doctor etc. Then I would write a letter and send it to the hospital and that doctor. Thats just me, but stuff like this really pisses me off. Docs have been sued successfully for not treating pain, and medical ethics dictates that you treat it. Furthermore hippocrates treated pain very aggressively, and considering they take his oath, then they are basically violating the oath all doctors take.

They can give you an aspirin and say they have treated it. Thanks for caring, though. Maine is a very spread out state, and very rural with many small towns and few big ones which are miles and miles apart. The state has been successful in having a PDMP which goes as far as to monitor schedule 1 through FIVE drugs. They are very Puritanical and Yankee about drugs. Suffer through it is what they believe. My daughter's psychiatrist tells her that stress is a need to work through issues and doesn't prescribe anti-anxiety meds. The whole state is that way yet no one cares. There are just too few people there. That is why I don't see that any pain clinic is open in Maine or even an OCS established here. The population density is not there yet...and there are few docs--another reason why they are paranoid. Small towns and small MD community.
