I just got a call from the Attorney General's office and they are FINALLY doing something to try to get me then child support owed to me. I"m talking about over 60,000.00 I've gone to numerous court hearings complete with the parking (u know how that is at the courthouse), numerous contempt of courts, etc.
They went to pick him up once at his parole officer's meeting, that took some real work, but he did some other sh!t and they took him. It wasn't anywhere near the amount owed. No revocation of parole.
So, TX isn't so strict on CS. But, a gal is working on it and I'm so happy. Prolly shouldn't be, I haven't seen any CS yet, but at least they're working on it and got additional info from me.
Wish me luck!!!! That's college money!!

Sweetz,
Like Taz, I missed this thread too. I am so happy things are finally starting to come together with the CS. My jerk ex-husband gave away all his rights to our daughter when she was 4. I think he got tired of paying CS. I am so glad he did because my new husband adopted her and he has always treated her like she was his own. Even when we started having our own kids, he made no difference. She wants nothing to do with him.
I will keep you in my prayers that you get your money soon. Like others have said you deserve it and more, just for having to go through this.
Take care, Khilee

Well, Sweetz, it took me 13 years to figure out my 1st husband was an Ahole. I divorced him. He never paid me a dime. Three kids. Oh well.
Who knows what he would have owed me. I knew I'd never get it. I never pursued legal options. With his level of depression - he was on the verge of suicide when I divorced him. I made a decision to never talk bad of him to the kids - they'd figure it out themselves as they aged. And they did.
I hope you actually receive some bucks. You deserve it. And he owes it. Good luck to you.

My sister divorced her first husband about 30 years ago and every once in awhile the state support enforcement agency sends her a check for back payments. I guess once it is owed, they keep on it. I think he technically still owes here tens of thousands of $$.

Well, we have movement! A guy came to the door (scared the [censored] outta us) and handed me some papers. They outline what has happened over the years and end up with a warrant out for his arrest. So, at least the ball is rolling again. At this point I don't care if his momma has to pay, she's a big fat enabler. Yeah, I'm mean like that.

Thanks hon.
Lets just say I'll believe it when I see it. At least they're not sitting on their asses any more. I'll be excited for any payment I get, no matter how inconsistent. That's assuming I get anything.

Congratulations! Nothing is more irresponsible and downright cold than not taking care of a life you helped create. You deserve that money and I hope it comes through for you. god bless.

i just dont get it. I know men who owe child support, not alot since they really dont make anything, who cant pay it for lack of funds... not an excuse... but I'm talking about the working poor, who have the police at their door and they are in jail until they can get a friend to bail them out by paying the owed child support. I mean theses guys sit for days if not weeks in jail till they pay ALL their child support - usually on the backs of friends or relatives - yet someone who owes 10's of thousands, such as gov McGreevey of NJ who is on the record that he owes over 10,000 dollars in back support is free as a bird and .. well i dont know if he ever paid it. Again I just dont get it. it seems to me that if your poor they come after you and if you're not you get away with it. How does this work? How can someone owe so much and yet never pay it for years, yet the other poor slobs sit in jail tll they cough up the couple hundred they owe?...again i am in NO way excusing men who do not pay their child support, i'm divorced with 3 kids, myself, and recieve very little support.
