I suspect seizures are up substantially, and there are unfortunately some good reasons to suspect this is not accident.
However only scheduled drugs are subject to seizure.
1). Prior to 9/11 cooperation among federal agencies, and the ability to conduct widespread surveillance activities on American Citizens were highly restricted. One consequence is the US Government should be considered to be reading all of your email and web traffic. If you order by email,or web-form, the odds on interception are high. So they often know the goods are on the way. What happens next is worse. If the email/or web order form contains a mailing address, a 9 digit zip code exists for it.
So instead of having to search through all of the mail as it comes in (and when it enters the USA, it gets bar coded with the 9 digit zip code), Customs can simply pull off all mail to specific 9 digit zip codes. This vastly simplifies the problem for customs.I doubt it is difficult to program the scanners in mail system to pull specific 9 digit zip codes.
2). Once you have had a seizure, for some period of time, I suspect all of your incoming International mail gets checked by US Customs, your 9 digit zip code is on their 'search list'. I have seen huge delays in incoming International Mail at the Port of Entry with Express and Global Priority Mail (7-10 days)for years after a seizure. I am convinced this time is spent waiting for customs inspection.
The bottom line is these days, once you get a seizure notice, you are likely to get many more if you try to ship scheduled drugs into the USA to the same address.
my thoughts anyway

I think some people have, in that it was only codiene, not a combo product, and IIRC, that is Sch II, with APAP, it is Sch III.
The one time I had a seizure I think, but don't remember, that it was just codiene, not codiene/apap, but nothing happened.
But remember, just because nothing happened to 2000 people that doesn't mean you can't be the one that something will happen. It's the risk you take when ordering stuff like that and honestly, Sch II is not worth the risk, IMO.

Aren't there millions of 9-digit zip codes? If customs had one customer suspected of importing something he/she wasn't supposed to be importing, then that includes thousands if not hundreds of thousands of 9-digit zip codes. There is no way they could pull off all "suspicious" zip codes and go through everything for one customer in one zip code, or even 1,000 customers in one zip code. We all must remember, people order things other than meds on the internet.
I think that customs is concerned with meds, but also very concerned with people who import things like bogus DVD's, purses, sunglasses, fake watches and all the other stuff you can buy on the streets in any city. Just google search and you'll find forums about people who import mass amounts of DVD's and get the same kind of LL's.
Also, customs wants to make sure if you're importing something legally, you pay taxes for it, and what is more important to the government than money? I really think that they're most concerned with collecting taxes on the people who order single things like a sweater or a pair of shoes on eBay from China -- so they can collect the taxes. Yes, they're concerned with meds, but way more concerned with collecting money.

That's total bunk. They have neither the time nor the manpower for such actions. Cleo is right. Especially now in slow economic times. I have read most of the LL threads on this board and if such a thing were true I would have read it. However, I hear Miami is not the best POE. having relatives that know something about imports, customs, inspection...for reasons i'm obviously not gonna say... NO. NOT TRUE that they are that efficient or that they are that organized. they're looking for incoming DANGEROUS things like, oh, 9/11-ish stuff. and even then, the percentage they grab is way low, because otherwise the mail system would screech to a halt. and usps is already in bad shape financially; don't have the money, and customs is part of HS, which has problems right now larger than this, believe me. ignore LLs. do not respond. trash them. that is all you need to do.
