Are you taking it for rheumatoid arthritis?

Are you taking methotrexate with it?

Sorry for the questions, but I can't provide a proper answer otherwise, if I can provide one at all. This sort of therapy is very specialised, but I do have some guidelines for it.

yes i am 25mgs weekly by injection.
im so pissed off with this bullshit.
i dont want to try another med, every time im put on a new drug a new problem occurs.
i was on humira and that gave me psoriasis, last year.
then i was put on Infliximab, and sortly after i got iritis.
iv had Iritis on and off since april and they say they might have to operate on my eye.
apparently it has nuttick to do with the Infliximab.
i now have to resort back to online pain relief because im only 25 and i not allowed to get anthing else on presciption.

So many times I am given a prescription and I read the side effects and I throw it in the garbage.

It's a shocking age to get this awful disease, but it can be controlled and in some cases, even reversed.

The first drugs they try (along with NSAIDs) are usually gold, penicillamine, hydroxychloroquine, chloroquine, and sulfasalazine.

They are called DMARDs (Disease-Modifying Anti-Rheumatic Drugs), and can also allow (if successful) the dose of NSAIDs to be reduced, which can only be a good thing.

The unfortunate thing with DMARDs is that they may take 2-6 months to see if they are helping, and if there is no modifying effect within 6 months, they will switch to another.

I'm assuming that they have tried all these drugs on you, which is why you are now on cytokine modulators. These include adalimumab, etanercept, infliximab, rituximab, abatacept, and anakinra.

In severe cases, the methotrexate may be replaced by azathioprine, ciclosporin, cyclophosphamide or leflunomide, but these are more toxic. You'll need regular blood counts with these drugs, and antiemetics can offset any sickness you may experience.

I know it's a total pain switching around anti-arthritic drugs, as I've had plenty of experience at that, but at your age it's well worth trying to control this condition because you don't want to be immobilised in your 30s.
