I think we should withdraw, blame Bush and be done with it.
Or bury the Afghan-Paki Border with B 52 Carpet bombing or Daisy cutters.
This dithering around is only going to endanger our men & troops.

I know it does and I worked so hard to come up w/a good one. You'd be surprised what folks thinks it is supposed to mean.

Anyway, back on topic so we don't get our wrists slapped, do you really think that bombing the life out of Afghanistan is a reasonable way to end the war?

Now be nice. I didn't insult you - just your avatar, and that is not new. The stinky face reference was for HER, not you.

OMG, are you Sarah Palin? jawdrop8

Back on topic, How would you justify killing so many civilians? Seriously, I am interested in your opinion, as it so different from mine on this issue, at least.

That's what I'm wondering. How on earth is killing thousands more innocent civilians going to make anything better?

The Russians were there for ten years, and their heavily addicted soldiers went home in defeat. Long before, the British Empire was similarly unable to conquer Afghanistan. What, exactly, do we hope to accomplish there? I keep thinking of the line from The Princess Bride: "Never engage in a land war in Asia".

The US tends to get involved in wars when there are resources we want. I know there's a pipeline at stake in Afghanistan we're interested in, as well as the many millions to be made from the vast fields of opium poppies. But is it really our job to 'fix' the country? I just read the other day that we actually are funding the Taliban... now that's messed up.

Rochelle . I have to stick up for my friend Bris. End Game is useless.

This poster came out of know were , never has tried to help a single person here on the DB.

Has done nothing but start fights. Especially if he/she can fan the flames between the right and the left and sit back and laugh about it.

Isn't it time rochelle , that we went back to having , open minded discussions on important subject matter. We are , Decent , intelligent , adults even if on different sides of the political view. Don't you think.

End Game knows that he can make Bris come out fighting. For him/she it is a End Game.

I think thats why , this president is trying to figure out what the He*l we are doing there.

And how the He*l to leave , once we have done what we went there for in the first place.

One thing for sure , the mission has changed since 9-11 and Bush sent in the first troops to find Bin Laden.

No you are right Chuckee.
Bris was classy. She just quoted the
profanities. Guess admin was out late last night.
Now Chuckee why don't you and menongytis
and the other kind respectful democrats start some
new threads for discussion instead of Old & Worn, 707224787, and me. Might be more fun. You guys seem always on the defensive. Maybe post some positive thread
initiations if you got some.
Thank you. smile

Has everyone forgoten about this itzy bitzy group of CIVILIANS (remember, they are not combatants, they are civilians) that would love us to leave so they can resume their little party and plan another keg party in the US. The last keg party was a real bash...Maybe if all those damned US soldiers would go home they could plan another one for us. Are ya'll ready to PARTEEEEE?...again?

Resorts, I don't disagree w/you that the terrorists are civilians, not combatants in the traditional sense of the word.

However, do you believe that bombing innocent civilians along w/the terrorists is the answer?

Or do you believe that we should support our military there in Afghanistan by providing more soldiers, etc...

Also, even if we win the war in Afghanistan, and how would that even be defined, do you think that would stop or slow down the terrorists?

I'm doing fine, Scapes, considering I've been dubbed "The Devil" and all.

No one, not even the conservatives, seem to raising crosses or wielding garlic when I cross their paths, so it's all good.
