Sarah Palin is acknowledging that "death panels" aren't part of Democrats' health care bills.
But, she says, she's been talking about them to make a point -- and she's comparing her use of the term to Ronald Reagan's cold war references to the "evil empire."
Palin said President Obama is "not lying" when he claims that "death panels" aren't included in Democrats' health care plans, but added: "It's kind like what Reagan used to do, though, when he talked about, say, the ‘evil empire.' You're never going to find the evil empire on a map of the world," Palin told ABC's Barbara Walters, in a portion of her interview that aired on

And I fear Palin, who said:
Quote:
You're never going to find the evil empire on a map of the world,"
will never find ANYTHING on a map of the world. But, hey, let's elect her president. Sarah would NEVER bow. She'll simply wink to the point it looks as if she's in the throws of a seizure, and if that doesn't work, she'll show some breast...and, of course, she'll make sh it up.

Death panels are a metaphor obviously. If you are 74 and have throat cancer is the govt going to pay to keep you alive for 6 months or a year? No. They will give you morphine and let you slip away. Personally a bottle of Dom Perignon champagne and a bunch of seconals while listening to Jimi Hendrix would be my choice. Death panels simply meant that the govt will not waste money on older folks when there are so many younger people it should go to. It's a cost /benefit analysis. Why waste money on older people. Bris if you have family 70 or over better let them know...
My father was 78 years old. We ( the Dr. ) could have keep him alive for anther 6 months to a year. But we new that it would be horribly painful and only for us.
My bother had throat cancer. He was 52 years old. They could have strong him on for anther 6 months to a year , but the Dr. decided that it was only going to delay in already horrifying ending. They made him as comfortable as they could. You don't what to see that ending , know matter when it comes. C

Oh, and I'd like to add that if it was a metaphor, it was a really BAD one. Worse even, than, "Someone left the cake out in the rain/ and I don't think that I can take it/ 'cause it took so long to bake it/ and I'll never have that recipe again/Oh, nooOOOoooOOO.
That's it! Palin is to politics what Macarthur Park is to music.

Who really believes honestly that the term 'death panel' was meant in the literal sense? What they do mean is FUTURE government advisory panel...it is so disingenuous to suggest that it was meant in the literal sense and to do so frankly demonstrates a willingness to not have an honest non-inflammatory Aristotelian logic driven discussion.Sheesh grab a shovel LOL.

That Rand is permeating the air again. Hard to escape the queen of bondage and cheese these days.
HAHA, funny what wildly mind numbing , revisionist , corporate interlocking , liberal directorship of American tower of self hating pile of apoplectic refuse did you juice your root in....because here on camp obvious to a 2 yr old we don't wrap are witty retorts in old colloquialisms that wouldn't widely be known just to self satisfy our own sense of importance. By the way, this is where you started. I'm guessing it was in the hope no one KNEW anything about Aristotle?
Then when someone DOES, you accuse them of talking over other's heads? Right. As I said, babble.
I'd say you've taken disingenuous to WHOLE new heights.

And, here, O&W, to show that there are some odd theories coming from all sides. Can you imagine WHAT could be causing a rainbow effect from a sprinkler?
It's GOT to be something oozing from the ground, right?

Funniest thing I've seen all week.
Please save us from light refraction.
That was funny. Sounded like a few dumb cajuns. Was this a personal home video you posted? TIA.

I don't know what makes you think this had anything to do with Cajuns. There's not even the slightest hint of a Cajun accent. Also, Cajun's are not dumb. That sounds a little "racist" to me. Come on, what gives with that?

Holy Shite!
It isn't the cajuns, let's be fair. It is pretty funny though! Rainbows are new!

But I'll start again if you post too. Tough, tough terrain, O&W, and one cannot post rebuttals without being dugg or voted down. You get one shot there, unless you're REALLY funny. They'll bury you in a heartbeat.
This place is SO easy in comparison. That's why it's not nearly as distracting. Then there are the gamers...
Tell me I read that wrong. You didn't call Cajuns dumb? I agree , does sound racist. C
Thank you Chuckee. As having a fair amount of Cajun blood running thru my veins, I didn't appreciate that very much. I can't figure out why that comment came out. That was NOT any Cajun accent I've ever heard. Not even close.
We like rainbows down here in Cajun country and cook 'em up all the time. We can make ANYTHING taste good. Well almost. Problem is tho, cook them too long and they loose their color.
