This is very worrying:( However, most of the IOPs we do business with on here aren't selling counterfeit pills.

"During the operation, internet monitoring revealed 751 websites engaged in illegal activity, including offering controlled or prescription-only drugs, 72 of which have now been taken down. More than 16,000 packages were inspected by regulators and customs, 995 of which were seized and nearly 167,000 illicit and counterfeit pills, including antibiotics, steroids and slimming pills, were confiscated."

illicit and counterfet pills. I checked all the sites I know of and they still seem to be in operation. 995 packages seized seems like a lot but not considering how many countries were involved. The LL's will be coming to those that had packages seized so I guess we will know then.

WTF, 23 countries, and only 995 seizures? I'm confused, over a 4 day period, shouldn't these countries intercept a similar number of packages regularly? Plus, we're talking not the smallest countries, the UK, USA, and Canada.

The math doesnt seem to work for me either.
These reports are generally exaggerated and I am surprsed they wouldnt have at least advertised more seizures, site closures etc.
When Pharma2u was busted LE claimed to have found thousands of conterfeit meds even though there was no sign of counterfeit drugs being received by people on the boards.

I wonder what they meant about going after the channels of payment? WU/MG/CC?

Doesn't add up at all. Seem's like a scare tactic if anything.

A scare tactic that will probably work to some degree. Trying to get all these countries to actually cooperate would be a good trick. Remember Interpol is not a LE agency. Intelligence gathering is really their cup of tea. Information and dis-Information are both in their bag of tricks.

I haven't seen any decline in websites offerings. Anyone know if any of the ones here on db are "off"?

I read something about Interpol a while back.
It was a laid back little agency where they took 3 hour, 3 Martini lunches.
Then some American took over and brought all that to a halt.
Forced everyone to show up on time and work hard.
Great, if they are sniffing out international terrorist bombers, but they announced drugs would be a priority.

Got to agree with Bladerunner on the dis-Information thing.
They will always claim "conterfeit & dangerous" drugs were found.
Just part of the game to scare and confuse.
167,000 pills is pathetic. A big pill press could make that many in 1/2 hour.

well if drugs for personal use were seized, it is really sad for those people who have no other alternative. Here in Canada, it has become quite fashionable for the younger physicians to simply dismiss by registered mail those patients whom they consider troublesome, so there are many out there left to deal with their health issues on their own. There are probably people who import drugs for illicit purposes, but I am sure there are many who have simply no other choice. A sad situation indeed.

Doctors in USA also dismiss patients they don't like by letter for whatever reason. It is a sad state of affairs to put money over people.

Interpol actually has no police authority. They gather and process intelligence then pass it along. Some members of Interpol are police officials in member countries. They keep massive files and track people/organizations throughout the world.

That American is my friend, Ronald Noble, who is a reasonable person. He wouldn't be tracking people down if it wasn't for a good reason. How about pills that are made in someone's basement? How about being sold junk instead of Hydro? He works his tail off counterterrorism, and the agency is a darn good one.

There were questions raised about the DHC pharma2u was supplying. From memory some users, even a couple familiar with opiates, reported unexpected reactions to the meds received. These reports weren't confirmed and could well have been competitors shilling.

Unfortunately most of these discussions were removed, when the pharma thread was deleted.

That said, given the number of meds supposedly confiscated during the raids, if large numbers of potentially harmful counterfeit medicines were found, I'd have thought we'd have heard more about it.

They will probably succeed in scaring people from buying medication online. Their goal is accomplished.

I dunno, people can be pretty desperate. Remember when Chris Larsen was involved in sending CLEARLY counterfeit meds that arrived from China in plastic bags, and people were taking 20 or 30 at once,"just to see" if they would have any effect at all, KNOWING they were counterfeit. Crazy.
