Almost all of the pain clinics in this area will prescribe them if the condition warrants it. It is the records requirements that is the killer. Look for a Dr. that treats Fibromyalgia. Otherwise, you will need MRI to document your condition. Good luck

As truckbird said it all depends on you recent records and have you been prescribed that medication in the past. Your real problem is that the FDA has approved a drug for fibermiagila(sp) and most Doctors are not going to put there license on the line with a schedule II for that aliment. You can get 10 mg norco from F2F clinics but most of them will not perscribe schII meds without heavy docomentation MRI the whole bit. And even with that it's still a coin toss. A friend of mine gos to the VA hospital for Fibro and all he can get is 30 low dose Viks every three month. And every time he goes in the Doctor wants to switch hiim to this new non narcotic drug.
pixy, i was under the impression that georgia was still a bastion of caring docs. we have no pmp, so that takes a load of docs, and there has not been that much media scrutiny on us. And I have heard about several doctors that are prescribing for legit issues. There is even one who is doing c2s for fibro, although the latest info is suspicious.
I do know that the board in the last two years has stepped up there scrutiny, but that is the same as the rest of the nation. Most issues arise from insurance companies flagging a patient when they dont think he needed it (translation: they did not want to pay) and so they involved the medical board which would bring scrutiny on the doc. And the usuall pharmacists keeping their eyes peeled. But, I suspect there are georgia people in here who know of some docs but are keeping them to themselves for obvious reasons. I wish we could get more action on the doc recommending area. Is it more active on the VIP side?
ps i would not want to go down to florida either, bc that is just too much. I have a legit need, and should be able to find a caring doc here, so I don't want to feel like a junkie driving to florida to get some narcotics. that is ridiculous I know, but look how the media and the DEA has made us feel. Like those same creeps that go down there and lie to "score" some oxy and smoke it. It is truly sad that they have ruined the florida situation after 2010, the abusers that is.
i live in ga and have pain for 3years now and you can get the meds but its hard to get without documentation, mri, and it takes forever to get an appt...once you get an appointment they treat u like a drug head(depending on length of time on meds) and under prescribe...
Any one out there? There is a lot of folks in GA with a lot of solid information and a lot of folks in GA who could use solid information. Lets get the ball rolling and some post a' flowing. Come on now!

Who put the Doctor in a sheriffs outfit?
New to this board and I am looking for an inexpensive doc near Spagetti Junction (15min north of Atlanta)to schedule face to face consult for K-pins. I have, what I think are, the necessary medical records. Any help is appreciated!
driving around I see signs that advertise pain clinics w 50 dollar consultations. if I remember to write down the #s and post them, does that make me a "Shill"? I havnt tried em either. Theyre just glossy real-estate-ish signs at intersections and stuff. is it ok to post those #'s?
Lesser, I would really be interested where you saw these ads. I assume Georgia would be the next logical state as we completely shot down any type of PMP legislation.
