PNWRain Musician and TAZ (and all the rest). Yep, I can see myself hanging out here. Not much input on my end tho...
But hey, if you want a recipe or help with the computer, I can do that. (a better cook that a sys admin, maybe)
Two dogs, and am looking for a kitty (dogs are the wife's, the kitty is going to be mine).
Tell you what, I will just kind of read everything, and pop up every now and then when someone needs a pat on the back, or someone needs someone to say "Awwww..."
Me? I have worked around computers forever it feels like, but never liked the idea of "sharing" on "boards".
But I like this website, and even though I do not like how sometimes folks get a bit "mean" (as folks do everywhere), I like it here.
Not an alchoholic, just tired...

Cheap food?
Stuffed cabbage! Everyone loves stuffed cabbage! And a great recipe to just whip up with few ingredients AND you mix and match as you like...
Get a head of cabbage. I like savoy. Snap off the outer leaves (cut around the root end, the leaves will just fall off) and steam them for five ten minutes.
Make a cup of rice al dente. Only cook the rice for about five minutes.
Cook until just clear, some onions with salt, pepper, and some chopped up cabbage.
Drain the rice. Mix it with a lb. of ground beef (cheaper the better) and a half lb of ground pork.
Mix up the raw pork, hamburger, vegentables, rice, and two eggs in a bowl.
Take each individual leaf of cabbage, take a 1/4 handful of the meat and veg mixture you just made, and place it in one end of the cabbage leaf. Roll it up like a burrito. as you roll it, overlap the end pieces over the middle. You should end up with something that looks like a small, fat, burrito.
Place them one layer deep in a glass cassarole dish. Throw in a 1/2 cup of water. Or, some tomatoe sauce. Cover tightly with foil (or the lid to the cassarole dish, unless you lost the lid or broke it).
Bake it for an hour at 350 degrees F.
Let it sit. I like it without the sauce. Just take them out and fry in a skillet with some butter and onions and cabbage, and serve with sour cream. Ukranian method.
Or, (if you used sauce) just eat them. Italian method.
Great with mashed potatoes.
And cheap, and filling, and from start to finish, less than two hours total prep and cleanup time.
