Despite the consistently negative comments I read on this discussion board, the patience of these ER healthcare providers is tested to the limit day in and day out.
Lol, doesn't surprise me. For some reason, I just never actually can come to asking my doctor for benzos or anything specific that is known to be abused. She has prescribed them in the past when I clearly needed them and was sleep deprived and very anxious. I know benzos have been popular since their introduction, but I swear, it seems like Xanax just did something the last several years to make the sheer abuse go up dramatically (I could be completely wrong though, and I am also Canadian where I have never heard of xanax being prescribed or seen a script filled.)
Yes, Martin, it is true. I have not gone to the ER on a regular basis, but when I had pneumomia, was hellucinating (cute jesters in different colors), Ronnie hauled me in. Had a 105 fever. They were wonderful. Said to me: most people do not need to be here and you do need to be admited and won't do it. I should have just told them it was the cost.
We spent $1500 a month last year and $1800 the year before. We are not rich. So, I said give me the meds (antbiotics) and then slept for 2 weeks.
But they were great. Took good care of me. I hadn't brought my morphine sulfate(too sick) and they administered it to me. Had the head doc, another doc and the head nurse. You are too sick to go home. I went home anyway. Stupid probably.
But once my granddaughters toys quit dancing, I thought back on it and realized they really cared for me. I wrote them a letter thanking them.
