Pat Oreilly The following is a series of articles by Pat Oreilly
We will be adding new articles on a regular basis
About the Author
Pat Oreilly, is a professional writer, speaker and personal advisor to people
who live in pain. She has written several books, publishes a monthly print
newsletter, and has published over 75 articles about chronic pain. She also
facilitates the Finding Our Way support program in Santa Rosa CA where she
lives. She has become an in-demand speaker and speaks extensively in her
local area. The Finding Our Way program is now starting in several other
communities across the country, and Pat serves as advisor to those groups
also. Pat believes that people in pain should unite, support each other, and
help the world see that those that live in pain have a spirit that shines even
when one of the most difficult life challenges descends upon them.
As a personal advisor Pat works with people who may have lost the will to
fight the pain because of the frustration of not finding treatments that work,
not being able to communicate their need to the doctors, not having
understanding friends and family, or just because the pain itself has worn
them down. She works one on one and helps the person see once again that life
can be worth fighting for and she gives solid tools and advice that they can
use to change their path and finally navigate the system in a way that works.
Her audio workshops inspire, educate and support the efforts of those who
choose to use pain as the tool for growth and wisdom. Her extensive research
into chronic pain shows patients how to avoid the pitfalls that can undermine
the quality of care received by the medical profession, and save money by not
spending it on worthless treatments.
Pat's 25 year battle with chronic pain has taught her how easy it is for one
to lose him or herself to the pain, and has developed her programs to help
fight back and build a life that accommodates the pain but does not focus on
it. "Trying to get back our old life is a futile effort," Pat says, "But we
can build a new life, one that is stronger, more inspired and reaches out to
help others. In helping another we heal ourselves."
